At the time, FreeSpin3D lacked a graphical user interface (GUI); all interaction with 3D models had to be done entirely through code. While experimenting with 3D model file handling, I accidentally discovered a way to render and preview 3D models directly within the Flash GUI — a breakthrough that dramatically changed the product’s usability.
This moment was pivotal: for the first time, designers could work visually with 3D models in Flash, without having to write a single line of code. My discovery was ultimately recognized as the foundation of a core patent of the company — though it was not officially filed under my name, it became the backbone of FreeSpin3D’s innovation.
This contribution bridged the gap between artists and developers, and helped open up interactive 3D design to a much wider audience.
